ARDMORE, PA — Two Ardmore restaurants are joining more than 60 eateries from the Philly region at 9th Annual Philadelphia Burger Brawl next month.Ardmore will be represented by The Bercy and Ripplewood Whiskey & Craft at the annual event.

The annual event will this year be held at a new location. It’s scheduled to start at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 15 at the Marine Parade Ground at Navy Yard Philadelphia.

In 2018, Ripplewood earned top honors Cutthroat Cocktail and in the Judges’ Choice Taco Takedown competitions. The Taco Takedown Competition will not be part of the 2019 event.

The Ardmore eatery’s cocktail made with Makers’s Mark with carrot juice, ginger juice, lemon juice, rosemary tincture and rosemary sprig garnish was crafted just right for those in attendance to earn the honor.

As for the tacos, it was Ripplewood’s tongue and cheek taco that won the judges’ favor. The tacos feature braised veal tongue and beef cheek marmalade on a corn tortilla.

Food critics, writers and celebrity judges will also name one winning burger, “Judge’s Choice.” Restaurants and bars may compete in the Cutthroat Cocktail Competition, sponsored by Jim Beam.

Attendees are invited to enjoy all-you-can-eat samples of the very best burger in Philadelphia and then vote for their favorite of the many participants. A full list of participating restaurants is featured below.

“Philadelphia Burger Brawl is back again with two exciting changes — an all new date in the fall and an all new, even larger location at Navy Yard Philadelphia,” said volunteer organizer and founder Rob Wasserman. “We are ready to bring on the sizzle as we help feed literacy and support underserved elementary schools in Philadelphia. This year we are proud to have support from 60+ restaurants that will bring their culinary talents and passion to the Navy Yard. Be prepared to come hungry as they wow us again at the grills.
